The St Andrew Mission Society met Sunday October 5, 2014 at 2pm at St Andrew Lutheran Church, West Fargo.
Attending were Rob, Kim, Jacob & Gabe Rieger, Kirk & Judy Rosin, Bruce and Lexi Madlom Cybil & Jenna Johnson, Del Ruff, Cindy Hansen, Sara Moreland Bob Schaefer, Dean & Shirley Schiller, Betty Lou Strand, Jan Baker .
Kirk opened the meeting with a devotion.
Jan gave a short Secretary report from February 2., Treasurer Judy reported that a donation of $500.00 was received from a couple from Minot.
Kirk reported that when he took some youth to St Paul, their was a small accident and hadn't heard if our Insurance had gone up.
The Topic of the day was deciding what the group wanted as the next mission trip. This provided a lot of discussion in many areas. Dean & Shirley presented us with possibilities of working on the Texas side at McAllen and also going into Mexico south of Brownsville. They will provide us with more information on this possibility. There was some discussion that some would like to consider going back to Rio Bravo. There were some that thought we should not go back to Nuevo Laredo again, but would like to go deeper into Mexico. Cercado was discussed. However, the group was not really interested in going back to Cercado unless the people have done something to forward progress on the church at Cercado. Saltillo and Villa Mainero were mentioned as possibilities. Kirk said he would check with Pastor Erickson and Pastor Mendez to see if we could get further information on what projects may be available that might fit our group to work on in Mexico by the next meeting.
Cindy made a motion, seconded by Del that the dates of the trip would be February 6-15, 2015. As these dates are around President's Day, we may consider some flexibility one day or another if there is a conflict for someone, or if we feel the need to extend our stay to get some work done.
More mission opportunities--Del is heading a trip to Nicaragua in January, 2015
The next meeting will be October 26 at 2pm at St Andrew Lutheran Church
We closed with the Lords Prayer

In following up on possible projects, it was learned that the church at Rio Bravo is currently not a part of the ELCM. No one knew for sure what possibilities there may be at Rio Bravo. Information was that all the work at the main church had been completed. Pastor Erickson and Pastor Mendez are suppose to get back to us before the next meeting on other possible projects.
